Badass Surprises of 2010

So every year there's always those albums that, unfortunately, seem to slip under everyone's radar. So here's two fucking sick death metal albums that should be bought by any avid death metal listener.

Sarcolytic: fronted by Jon Zig, artist for bands such as Suffocation, etc. plays brutal death metal, thats not fucking annoyingly repetitive and doesn't have consistent burping vocals. It's got excellent production and musicianship, and the always amazing death metal breakdowns. Highly recommended and you can buy the shit on the Willowtip Records website for $10.

Severe Torture:These guys seem to keep getting better and better with each album. They seem to be highly influenced by Death and Suffocation, the latter being more prominent. In fact, the beginning of the first track, Grave Condition sounds almost exactly like the song Abomination Reborn off of Suffocation's self titled album. The solos are very Schuldiner style as well, but that's definitely not a problem. Why these guys aren't more popular in the death metal scene, is beyond me. Highly recommended to fans of the two aforementioned bands.
